June Update: Second wave of #1, surveys, ashcan poll restart, progress, and more!

We've just sent out the second wave of Firebreak #1 digital PDFs to the eligible backers that missed it the first time around. This one'll go for another two weeks.

If you got either the $5, $7 or $10 tiers and haven't quite read #1 yet, it's available on Itch, Comixology, and the new pre-order store for $2.99, without any DRM.

Things are still on pace for the planned late July release for the second issue, with the bonus ashcan sometime in August. I was planning to send this update out about a week ago, however Backerkit's surveys took a bit longer than expected to set up. Expect them in the next day or two, some have already been sent out with the "smoke test".

The last update's ashcan cover poll... ended in a 50/50 tie, so we've decided to instead run it through the pledge survey. Both the cover poll and the option to customize your backer credit will end on July 16th. The addresses will be locked a month later on August 16th, which is also when the add-on and pre-order stores close

Finally, our printer Comix Well Spring has offered us the option to ship some of the orders straight from their offices. The premium method that they use is a bit outside of our own shipping budget, so we've made it an add-on, however any pledge with a poster included already has it complimentary due to the  higher shipping costs that those tiers already had.

You only have until 11:59 PM Eastern tomorrow to download the copy of Firebreak #1 that was sent out last week. If you missed it, look for a WeTransfer email.

Starting tomorrow morning, Firebreak #1 will be offered through Comixology for $2.99.  The Itch.io price will be lowered to match.

However, if you missed this PDF, we will be sending out one more wave of backer copies once #2 is ready, so don't feel like you have to buy it if you missed this chance, you'll have one more later on.

Also, our cover artist John has sent over two sketches for the bonus ashcan, and I thought it'd be neat to have you all vote on the one that gets turned into the final cover art.

Just got the payment for the campaign, so the digital copy of the first issue has been sent out to those who pledged for it. 

The download link expires in a week. If you miss it, let us know and we’ll send out a second wave closer to the physical shipping date. The issue’s digital extras will be made available later on as part of Backerkit.

As for the ashcan cover, that process has now been started. Expect to see previews of that in a few weeks, as due to spoilers we can’t really show off more pages of the comic itself until it’s out.

$2824, far, far more than I’d ever have expected a week ago. I am genuinely amazed.

For those that pledged for the first issue, you can expect a WeTransfer link to the digital copy on May 15th, after payment has fully processed. The physical will ship alongside the other items in August.

Surveys will go out about a month later, in mid-June. You’ll have about a month and a half to fill them out if you want to customize your inside-back-cover credit, otherwise we’ll just use whatever you put down as your KS username.
